Botox Injections:

What are they and how do they work?

Botulinum Toxin A (known as Botox) is a prescription medication that is injected into targeted muscles and used to temporarily improve the look of both moderate to severe crow’s feet lines and frown lines between the eyebrows in adults.

Our registered general in-house nurse practitioner/prescriber has over 30 years of nursing experience and 11 years in non surgical cosmetic treatments. She is an advanced practitioner with vast experience in creating that perfect natural and beautiful end result. She has treated hundreds of patients both in Grimsby and further afield who have used Botox to improve their appearance. If you have any questions please contact our team (01472 722 444) or drop in to our spa in Grimsby for a consultation to understand how we can use Botox therapy to help you achieve the ‘look’ you desire.

Please Note

The Independent Healthcare Advisory Service (IHAS), endorsed by the General Medical Council (GMC), has been formed to regulate the cosmetic industry and protect the general public. IHAS states that only medically qualified practitioners, i.e, Doctors, Dentists or Nurses who hold the Independent Prescribing qualification, can safely provide injectable cosmetic procedures such as Botulinum Toxin A. We are pleased to reassure all of our patients that treatments are carried out by a registered Independent Nurse Prescriber highly trained and qualified in advanced non surgical cosmetic procedures.

It must be recognised that Botox is a prescribed medication and the practice of remote prescribing, whereby a treatment is administered following a telephone consultation with a remotely located doctor or nurse prescriber, is not under any circumstance whatsoever considered to be safe practice. This ruling was endorsed by the General Medical Council in July 2012.

How Botox Injections Work:

Botulinum Toxin type A is a purified protein and is injected into targeted muscles of the face to temporarily relax them, softening lines and helping to reverse the signs of ageing.

Treatment is usually effective within 4 to 5 days, but it can take up to 3 weeks for Botox to reach its full potential. Commonly treated areas are the vertical frown lines between the eyebrows, forehead lines and crow’s feet.

Botulinum Toxin A  is also highly effective in the treatment of excessive axillary sweating (known as hyperhydrosis).

“As a lady of a certain age where Botox and fillers are not openly discussed or shared, I happily would like to share with you that having both Botox and fillers with Mandy Baldwin, I am impressed with the natural and youthful look and how confident I now feel.

I am aware over the coming months, I shall see even more of a result and I am so pleased to have found such a friendly and professional service where I shall now visit again in the future.”
